What does eyelash extension insurance with Ripe cover?

What's covered

  • Treatment risk cover

Protects your liability against third-party claims for injury or property damage following beauty treatments up to the value of £5m.

  • Public and Products Liability

Up to £10m of cover is included as standard and can protect you against third-party claims for injury or property damage.

 

What's not covered

  • Working abroad

Through Ripe we can only cover policyholders working in the UK and cannot cover claims brought in from another country.

  • Treatments involving the use of injections

Cover will not be included for any treatment involving the use of injections, alongside a list of specifically excluded treatments.

  • Theft from unattended and unlocked vehicles

Theft from unattended vehicles will not be covered, unless all points of access are locked or the vehicle is stolen at the same time.

  • Exclusions to money cover

Excludes theft from employees if not reported to the police within 7 days and theft from an unattended vehicle.  

What's optional

  • Contents, stock, and shop front cover

You can cover your contents, stockup to a combined value of £250k.

  • Employers’ liability

This cover protects your liability following illness or injury to an employee up to the value of £10m.

  • Buildings cover

Up to £500k of cover is provided for your salon’s building, including any outbuildings, walls, gates, and fences.

  • Teaching cover

Provides cover for compensation sought following a negligent act in respect of providing teaching services where you have received a fee.

  • Money cover

You can cover the theft of money from your business up to the value of £2,500.

  • Business interruption

Covers loss of turnover or the additional costs of keeping your business running up to the value of £500k if you cannot trade.

  • Legal cover

You can select up to £100k of cover for costs incurred from defending or pursuing a claim for a range of legal issues.

What insurance should I consider for carrying out eyelash extensions?

Your cover depends on what you want to protect your business against, but the three main types of eyelash extension insurance are:

  • Public Liability—this protects you from potential claims from third parties due to personal injury, treatment risks and property damage
  • Employers’ Liability—if you employ people as part of your business, this is a legal requirement. This covers you and your business if someone you employ suffers a bodily injury
  • Equipment Cover— this can cover for theft or accidental damage to your business equipment

You may want to include Money Cover to provide financial protection if money belonging to your business is stolen from your premises or in transit. This can be useful for mobile makeup artists that deal in cash.

Buildings Cover is an additional option if you want financial protection for a beauty salon you own or are responsible for if the building or contents are damaged.
