Do I need business insurance?
Most businesses will require some form of insurance but it really depends on what you do and how your business is set up. We cover over 300 different types of occupations and professions, including both manual trades and clerical jobs and you can search for yours here. Our quote system will automatically suggest cover that you might want to consider based on your profession, so the quickest way to see what you might need is to get a quote.
What if my occupation or profession is not on the list that you cover?If you cannot find your occupation or profession in the search bar, you could look through the A-Z list. If you still cannot find a good match, we might still be able to help so please call us on 0800 668 1552.
Do I need Employers' Liability insurance?If your business has any employees, Employer’s Liability insurance is a legal requirement. As an employer, you are responsible for the health and safety of your employees and you can be fined if you are found not to have cover in place. The Employers’ Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969 protects employees against the risk of injury at work by ensuring that companies that employ people have the correct insurance.
How much Public Liability insurance do I need?It really depends on what you do for a living and if you work with or for anyone that stipulates a minimum level of cover. For example, if you are contracting, some companies might ask you show that you have at least £5 million in cover. It's best to check this out with the companies you work with before taking out a policy. You can always increase your cover at a later date by contacting us.
I'm a builder and I also do other work, do I need to declare this?Builders only need to let us know if the additional work/trade makes up over 15% of their work. If you are unsure about this, please give us a call on 0344 274 3262 and we'll be able to advise you further.
I have more than 9 employees, can you cover me?Unfortunately not. Our policies are only suitable for business that have up to a maximum of 9 employees.
Can I add extra cover to my policy later?Of course! If you decide to increase the limit of your insurance or add employees or additional cover, just give us a call on 0344 274 3262 and we'll take of it.
What should I do if I need to make a claim?All the details are in your policy documents, however should you need to make a claim, you can call 0344 274 3262 and we'll advise you.
What are the exclusions on this policy?As with any insurance policy, it's important to understand what is excluded. Please read through the policy wording here and contact us on 0344 274 3262 if you have any questions at all.

What are endorsements?You will notice that your Policy Schedule lists some endorsements that are relevant to you and your business. These are used to outline policy conditions you need to comply with and full information can be found within the Endorsement Library, which accompanies every policy. You can also see an online version here.
Can I pay monthly?You can choose to pay your annual premium in full, in one payment (by single Direct Debit or by Credit/Debit card) or we can arrange for you to pay in easy monthly installments. Just pay a deposit at the time of taking out the policy and we'll take the remaining amount over 9 equal installments.
Are there any trades or occupations you don't cover?We cover over 300 different occupations and professions but there are some occupations which we unfortunately cannot cover. Here is a list of those we do not cover.
