Insurance for Bands
What is Specialist Band Insurance?
Playing in a band creates a unique buzz and a virtually unrivalled sense of togetherness. That’s why it’s essential to have band insurance to give yourselves the peace of mind to focus on the music.
The most important elements of band insurance are Public Liability, which is required by most live venues prior to any performance, and Equipment cover, in case your gear is lost, damaged or stolen.
Whether you’re rehearsing, on the road, or performing live, our band insurance is here to help you stay on the right note.
Specialist cover for bands
Choose a policy that has been built with the needs of bands in mind – choose the cover you desire and only pay for what you need.
Why does your band need Equipment cover?
Your band is likely to own several pieces of equipment, which when added together will no doubt be pretty expensive.
Therefore, if something happens to your equipment – for example, if your instruments are damaged in transit or someone literally drops the mic – you could be left not just unable to perform, but severely out of pocket. That’s why Equipment cover is so important.
With our Equipment cover, your instruments are protected against theft, loss and accidental damage, both at home and when out and about. Furthermore, your equipment can be repaired or replaced as quickly as possible – and we’ll also cover up to £30,000 of equipment which has been left in a secure studio.
It's simple to arrange and insures? the collective value of all your instruments, and unlike other insurance companies we don’t need you to list every instrument or piece of kit you want to insure.
One band member can take out the policy for the whole group – all we need are the names of your band members.
- Bands can cover their equipment against theft, loss and damage. We’ll pay for repairs or replacements up to the figure stated in your Insurance Schedule.
- If an item is less than three years old – and was bought new – we’ll replace it New-for-Old. We cover laptops which are less than 18 months old and were bought new.
Why does your band need Public Liability insurance?
Imagine turning up to a gig and being told you can’t perform because you don’t have the right insurance? Well, this could happen if you don’t have Public Liability.
Such is the importance of Public Liability, most public venues won’t allow a band on stage without a valid insurance certificate which proves they have this cover.
Public Liability insurance protects your legal accountability if a claim is made against you for causing damage to property or injuring someone else when performing. So, if an unstable speaker injures an audience member, or an amp explodes and damages the venue you’re performing at, you’ll be covered.
What’s more, with our quick and easy online quote and buy process, you can have your Public Liability insurance certificate emailed straight to your phone, meaning you’ll never miss a gig.
- Our Public Liability cover starts at £1 million.
- You also get £1 million Professional Indemnity cover FREE when you take out our Public Liability, protecting you against claims that occur from any negligent advice or instructions you’ve given.
Why does your band need Performance cover?
If you play live, Performance cover is vital. If you or one of your band members has an accident during a performance, your injuries could mean that you're unable to carry out your day-to-day profession or perform for long periods.
Thankfully, we offer Loss of Earnings cover for up to 52 weeks if you’re unable to work following an accident, so your injury doesn’t affect your livelihood.
What's more, our Performance cover includes Equipment Hire which reimburses you for the hire of alternative music equipment whilst your claim is being processed for theft, loss or damage of your equipment and Equipment Breakdown which provides protection if your electronic equipment should fail.
Why does your band need Personal Accident cover?
When you’re on stage, all kinds of accidents could lead to you suffering a serious injury.
Our Personal Accident cover makes sure the financial impact of serious injuries is kept to a minimum. If you sustain a serious injury whilst using music, entertainment, sound or lighting equipment, we provide a benefit for death, loss of limbs, loss of sight or permanent total disablement, meaning you’re protected for even the worst-case scenarios.
Can one policy cover every band member?
Of course. One band member can take out the policy for the whole group – all we need are the names of your band members.
