Sports Club Insurance
Coming soon for those who run sports clubs and societies in their local community.
What is sports club insurance?
Sports club insurance is designed to protect sports-based small businesses financially in case of an accident or third-party claim. At Ripe, the cover is flexible and protects those running sessions across multiple venues to those hiring out their premises.
Why should I consider sports club insurance?
There’s nothing more exciting than launching your own sports business, but it’s easy to forget that the heightened responsibility can carry its risks.
Sports club insurance is designed to protect you and your business in the worst-case scenarios so you can get back up and running in the event of a claim.
Say one of your clients slips during a session and makes a claim against you, or a property you’re liable for is damaged in a fire—this could devastate your business if you don’t have financial protection in place.
Plus, clients are more likely to join a sports club with insurance as it shows the owner is responsible and cares about their members.
What sports clubs are covered?
Through Ripe sports club insurance can be arranged for a wide range of customers, businesses and organisations who provide activities and services to members of the community.
The variety of clubs and societies that can be covered includes:
- gyms
- clubhouses
- outdoor activity centres

Do I need Public Liability insurance for a sports club?
You’re not legally required to hold Public Liability cover as part of your sports club insurance policy. However, you may find that protecting your business against third-party claims gives you more peace of mind.
Say a client slips on a wet floor inside your premises and injures themselves. Having Public Liability cover would prevent your business from paying out huge compensation costs so you can continue running sessions worry-free.
