The UK’s 11 Most ‘Instagrammable’ Static Caravan Breaks

Though foreign travel is back on the cards again, static caravan breaks are still a firm favourite of UK holiday-goers, and it’s easy to see why.

Your static caravan is your safe haven, your home from home, your second community, and you’ll always look forward to going back.

The UK is blessed with gorgeous coastlines and static caravan parks to match. Couple that with the fact we’re a nation that loves to share—completely besotted with social media (whether we like to admit it or not), and you have the perfect recipe.

There’s certainly no shortage of inspiration out there—let’s put it that way.

Static caravans come at a high cost, so nobody could blame you for wanting to show yours off, right? Especially if your caravan site looks the part, too—which, as we’re about to show you, many do.

If you’re reading this and nodding along, we feel you. In no particular order, here are 11 of the most ‘Instagrammable’ static caravan breaks.

Where do you (and your followers) fancy next?

1. Longnor Wood Holiday Park, Peak District

Address: Newton, Longnor, Buxton, SK17 0NG

Nearby points of interest

  • Haddon Hall
  • Buxton Crescent
  • Bakewell Old House Museum

If the Peak District is your destination of choice, look no further than Longnor Wood Holiday Park.

This adult-only site is nestled away in the tranquil Buxton hills and offers something different for every type of caravanner. Catering for everything from lodges and statics, to luxury pods and touring pitches, Longnor Wood Holiday Park is as versatile as it is beautiful.

At 12ft wide, the static caravans here are extra-spacious, containing one large ensuite bedroom with a separate dressing room. You’ll also find open-plan lounge and kitchen areas connected to a stunning veranda and hot tub area, too, making this the ideal retreat for a special anniversary or quiet, child-free getaway. What’s not to love?

We’ll assume you’ve either been to or seen pictures of the Peak District before, so you don’t need reminding how stunning its views are, and you’re treated to them aplenty here. There’s green as far as the eye can see.

Whatever the occasion, there’s a good chance your stay at Longnor Wood will make it to ‘the gram’.

2. Coombe Caravan Park, Wiltshire

Address: Coombe Bissett, Salisbury, SP2 8PN

Nearby points of interest

  • Stonehenge
  • Salisbury Cathedral
  • Salisbury and South Wilts Golf Course

Holidaying with the little ones, too? This hidden Salisbury gem is more of a family affair–not least because it’s been run by husband and wife duo Brian and Margaret for more than 40 years.

With a large playground to keep children entertained, the award-winning Coombe Caravan Park in Wiltshire offers everything you could want from a static caravan break and then some.

All its statics overlook the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and the landmarks within—some more famous than others, of course…

Nearby Stonehenge (roughly 20 minutes away by car) is one of the best-known ancient wonders of the world. Believed to be built more than 5,000 years ago, it’s been an official World Heritage Site since the mid-1980s.

However, despite its worldwide fame, nobody has ever been certain why it was built in the first place. Nevertheless, if you’ve never been to Stonehenge, it’s worth factoring in a visit on your next static caravan break here.

3. Trossachs Holiday Park, Scotland

When it comes to static caravan breaks, Scotland has it all. In fact, we could probably do a round-up of purely Scottish locations (maybe we will?)—but for now, let’s look at one of the finest sites north of the border.

Trossachs Holiday Park couldn’t be better placed as far as enjoying the great outdoors is concerned. Perched on the doorstep of Scotland’s impressive first national park, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, this is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or cycle. It has superb additional facilities for things such as golf and fishing too, if they’re more your thing.

Of course, a place surrounded by such beauty is also a photographer’s paradise—which’ll be music to the ears of your Instagram followers.

The on-site static caravans come with a choice of either two or three bedrooms, while some also have additional pull-out sofa beds for even more space.

4. Whitby Holiday Park, North Yorkshire

Address: Whitby, YO22 4JX

Nearby points of interest

  • Whitby Museum
  • 199 Steps

Despite its undeniable beauty, North Yorkshire is often the somewhat ‘forgotten’ part of what’s commonly referred to as ‘God’s Own Country’. However, there aren’t many better spots to experience it than Whitby Holiday Park.

Comfort and the utmost luxury are the norm on this clifftop site. Just a short walk from Whitby town centre, you’ll be able to discover its famous Gothic architecture, fish and chips, and cosy independent cafés.

The park itself boasts a good selection of high-quality static caravans, surrounded by gorgeous beaches and magnificent views of the North Yorkshire countryside.

Be it the historic Whitby Abbey, the National Trust-owned Saltwick Bay, or the Cleveland Way Coastal Path, there’s plenty to see and do when holidaying in Whitby. And if you are indeed wandering down into the town’s iconic narrow streets, no less than 199 steep ancient steps await you–you’ve been warned!

The on-site Wi-Fi is also exceptionally good, too—so your Instagram followers will be glad to know.

Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are also well worth a visit for all you natural geography buffs!

You’ll find some serious luxury on show at Sandford. The park spent just shy of £4m on revamping its holiday homes and lodges in 2021, and there’s more to come still.
